Keep It Going

Six different elephants in the church we've talked about. All of them very important. I think the two that carry the most shame and embarrassment, especially for women, is the "Sexy Elephant" and the "Porn Addicted Elephant". If you have no idea what I'm talking about go to thestirring.org and listen to the podcasts.

These messages at church have finally opened the door for us women to talk about this area...to bring everything into the light...whether hurts or sin...God wants it all...He wants freedom for us all. I've already been apart of many conversations with single and married women and we must keep going. Just because it's not being talked about in the front of the church anymore doesn't mean we stop talking about it. All of us have been affected by sex. So instead of just keeping it to ourselves because of shame or guilt, lets talk about it and live in freedom. God wants and has always intended for this area to be a blessing in our lives, not a source of pain.

So let's talk about it! Talk to me...talk with a friend...talk with someone you trust...just talk and allow the Lord's light to fill this dark place!

I love your boldness and that you spoke up like you did last night. You are living out your "counselor" calling - and never doubt that! I have the same heart for women - let's go get em and tear the enemy's strongholds down!

I agree, we need to keep it going. I have also had some awesome conversations with girls about sex, porn, etc. It's so awesome to see God moving in every aspect of our lives and to see the enemy getting squashed!

I didn't end up staying last night, but heard it was fantastic. Thank you for continuing to let God use you in the lives of others.

I completely agree that we need to keep talking. I went through "Every Woman's Battle" with a group of girls a few years ago and was shocked at how amazing and moving the group was every week. I look forward to more groups and more spaces where God crashes through walls to have light stream into all the "dark" places we've created! Count me in!

sarah... i think you're pretty incredible, and you are always so encouraging to me... thank you for that... sometimes, i don't think people know how much that means to me...or just assume that i don't need it. anyway, yes--the elephants--keep it going!

true that ;)

Sarah - I appreciated you sharing last week too. Thanks for being bold and for being willing to talk about the hard things!!! It's SO needed so rarely done! It's so refreshing to see people who are open and willing to go to hard places! Thanks for being one of those people!

Hey, I also wanted to let you know that I received that package that I was telling you about after I got back from Mom's group today. The jacket had an added bonus that I hadn't expected - it's a water-resistant rain coat too, so I thought of you right away! If you are interested I would be happy to share (I only paid about $13.50 for it - the reg. price was $50!). You can email me at jchristian@simpsonuniveristy.edu if you want. Hope you have an amazing week!
